Director of the Division of BioStatistics, Department of Medicine, Indiana University
With Indiana University School of Medicine for 24 years, Katz was appointed director of the Division of Biostatistics in 1995, prior to becoming Professor of Medicine. He also serves as an adjunct professor in the departments of Public Health and Oral Biology (which is through the I.U. School of Dentistry).
Katz has focused his primary areas of research at I.U. on sexually transmitted diseases, osteoarthritis, and dentistry. These efforts, combined with a wide variety of other health research projects, have led to over 180 peer-reviewed publications in statistical and health sciences literature.
Katz received his Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan.
