Sports Injury Information Websites

Advocates for Injured Athletes:  An advocacy and support group for injured athletes who suffer traumatic injuries in sports. The website contains information about their programs and many useful links. 

American College of Sports Medicine:  A national and international professional membership organization concerned with all aspects of sports medicine and exercise with over 45,000 members worldwide.  The ACSM website has many resources including fact sheets and position statements. 

National Athletic Trainers' Association:  A professional membership association for certified athletic trainers and others who support the athletic training profession. Founded in 1950, the NATA has grown to more than 30,000 members worldwide today.  The NATA website provides many resources including fact sheets and position statements.

National Youth Sports and Safety Institute:  A national leader and advocate for health and safety of children and adolescents participating in sports.

NCAA Health and Safety Website:  A valuable resource containing links for coaches, administrators, athletic trainers, parents and athletes.

NCAA and Centers fo Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Concussion Education Materials: A collaborative effort between the NCAA and CDC to provide coaches, parents, administrators and athletes with valuable concussion education materials. 

STOP Sports Injuries:  The STOP Sports Injuries campaign was initiated by the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) in early 2007 and provides many useful resources for parents, coaches, administors and others including sport fact sheets and prevention tips. 

Youth Sport Safety Alliance:  The Youth Sports SafetyAlliance is an initiative sponsored through the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and is supported by nearly every sport governing body and professional organization (over 60) concerned with safe participation in youth sports.
